Steve was born Sept. 2, 1944, in Oceanside, Calif. He was raised and educated in the Bay area of California. On Sept. 22, 1965, he married Carlyn M. Norcutt of Butte in Freemont, Calif. They were blessed with three children.
He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1963, served during the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged in 1967.
Steve pursued his love of carpentry, working and living in California until 1996, when the family moved to Lincoln City, Ore. In October 2004, he and Carlyn moved to Anaconda, after a longtime desire to live in Montana.
He was a very outgoing person and made many friends quickly and easily in Anaconda. Steve loved doing woodwork. He loved animals, especially the local wildlife, and he loved children in general, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Anaconda Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1876.
Survivors include his loving wife, Carlyn, at the Anaconda home; daughter, Jeannie Holland and husband, Mario Molina of Anaconda; son, Steve Holland Jr. of Anaconda; grandchildren, Jessica, Anthony, Diana, Giovani, Kaitlyn, Melissa, and Keira; sisters, Charlotte Foster of California, Barbara Michael of Texas; brother, Chuck Holland of Washington; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Fran Warren, Butte, Linda (Ray) Schneider of Anaconda, Rita Cooper, Opportunity, Judy Young (Gunnar Bloom), Opportunity, Russell (Becky) Norcutt , Anaconda, Dick (Marlene) Torgerson, Libby, Joyce Hasty, Havre, Barbara Storm, California; and Cody Richardson, who lived with them as a child, and Steve thought of her as one of his own; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Cremation arrangements are under the care of KT Riddle Funeral Homes, Anaconda.
