Paul Vanderpool, 89, of New Florence died Dec. 3, 2005, at New Florence Nursing and Care Center. He was born April 16, 1916, to Benjamin F. and Audella (Bell) Vanderpool in Centralia. Mr. Vanderpool was a ticket agent for Norfork and Western Railroad. He served as a radio operator in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of United Methodist Church in New Florence and Montgomery Masonic Lodge. He is survived by one stepdaughter, Marilyn Linker of Wright City; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve T. Vanderpool; his parents; one stepson, Bill Shumate; and several brothers and sisters. Services will be at 1 p.m., with visitation from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Dec. 7 at Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City with burial in New Florence Cemetery.
