Ruby Jewel Ragland Chambers, 94, Westbrook, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 18, 2018 with her loving family by her side.

Ruby was born on December 17, 1923 in Matador Texas to John and Fannie Copeland Ragland. Growing up Ruby spent her years in Matador, Burkett, and the Crosscut areas of Texas until graduating high-school in Crosscut as salutatorian. After school Ruby married the love of her life Clyde M. Chambers on May 31, 1941. After getting married she lived in Albany, Texas until Clyde was transferred to Westbrook where she lived for 59 years. Ruby was a woman who lived her life according to her faith, making sure to put God and family at the front of her life. She was a member of Westbrook First Baptist Church for many years. She was proud of her family making sure to be the best mother and grandmother she could be she was sure to get to every game and school activity that she was able to get to, and could often be seen volunteering her time to help at many of the activities. Ruby enjoyed having company over, whether playing a game of cards or cooking up a meal friends and family alike knew they were loved and welcomed at all times.

Ruby is survived by her children; Barbara Bass and husband Wilson of Westbrook, Vickie Koch and husband Rick of Westbrook, Robert Chambers and wife Christine of Lake Colorado City and Judy Hale of Westbrook. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren, as well as by a sister-in-law Thelma Ragland of Abilene and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Clyde Chambers; her parents,her brothers: John Ragland and Verlon Ragland, her sister Evelyn Henderson, a grandson Gary Gene Parrish Jr, a great-granddaughter Stacie Kneupper, and by a son-in-law Donnie Hale. A funeral service for Ruby will be held on Thursday, June 21st at 10 am at Kiker Seale Funeral Home with her son Robert Chambers officiating, burial will follow in the Westbrook Cemetery.
