Lucille Hernandez, 83, cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, died peacefully Feb. 25 at home.

Lucille was born Sept. 21, 1931, in Minatare, Neb., the daughter of Adalberto and Anna (de la Torre) Hernandez. At an early age, she moved to Cheyenne, where she attended school. She married Louis Hernandez on Dec. 3, 1949, in Greeley, Colo. Louis and Lucille had 49 devoted years together.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis; son, Edward; and sisters, Beatrice Trevino, Rebecca Hernandez, Anna Hinjosa, Virginia Alvarez and Sara Arroyo.

Lucille is survived by her sons, Michael Hernandez of Grand Junction, Colo., and Mark and wife Linda Hernandez of Casper; daughter, Linda and husband Alejandro Pena of Santa Ana, Calif.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She is further survived by brothers, Albert and William Hernandez of Cheyenne; and sister, Caroline Nation of Las Vegas.
