Funeral Services for Gladys Marie Brewer, 73, a long time Hereford resident will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Avenue Baptist Church with Reverend, Billy Joe Wall Pastor, officiating, in Hereford, TX. Interment is Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Billy Joe Wall, officiating in Fair Lawn Cemetery in Snyder, Oklahoma. Professional services are under the direction of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home in Hereford, TX.
Gladys Jones was born on May 5, 1941 to Jack and Esther O’Rear Jones in Grandfield, OK. She met and fell in love with Monty Brewer and later married on August 1958 in Frederick, OK. Mrs. Brewer worked in Dolly Textiles and Arrowhead Mills for 19 years. Gladys loved to paint and had a passion for cooking. Everyone recognized her cooking and was known as an excellent cook. She loved gardening and all flowers. Mrs. Brewer always put others first, she was loved by everyone.
She is survived by her husband Monty Brewer, one daughter Melissa Miller and husband Kirk of Amarillo, TX., one son Roy Glen Brewer of Hereford, TX., four sisters: Dora May McQuilliams and Shirley Cross both of Frederick, OK., Ester “Susie” Jensen of Manitou, OK., and Karen Morrell of Brooksville, FL., two brothers: Jack Jones and Gerrell Jones both of Wichita Falls, TX.
Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Tommy Jones and her son Tab Arlen Brewer.
The family suggests memorials in Gladys' name be made to Avenue Baptist Church, 130 North 25 Mile Avenue, Hereford, Texas 79045.
