Vivian Dennis Cranford, age 97, of Troy died Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital, Troy.

Vivian was born October 2, 1917 at Montgomery County, NC, the daughter George Edmund and Caroline "Mittie" Mullinix Dennis.

She was the oldest living member of First Baptist Church of Troy; very active in the church until her health prevented her from attending as she would have liked. She was a former sales lady at Belk Clothing Store in Troy.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years: J. B. Cranford and 6 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by one daughter: Mary Louise Nesbitt of Raleigh; and one son: Glenn Allen and wife, Ann V. Cranford of Troy; 5 grandchildren: Jill, Mary Lynn, Julie, Jeff and Barna; 8 great-grandchildren: Anah, Alexa, Mary Jane, Alex, Leo, Aubrey, Thomas and Will.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 1-2 pm at First Baptist Church, 401 E. Main St., Troy. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Dr. Phillips McRae and Rev. Raleigh Castelloe officiating. Burial will be private.
