BLUFF CITY, Tenn. Sharon Ann Owens Mullins, age 60, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at her parents' home in Russell County, Va. She was born to Jim Owens and Rosemary Hale Owens on June 2, 1954 in Detroit, Mich. Sharon worked in the coal mines and later managed the deli at Food City on Volunteer Parkway in Bristol, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Mullins. In addition to her parents, Sharon is survived by her son, James Franklin Hurd of the home; five brothers, Danny Hale and wife Bridget, Kirby Owens and wife Lois, all of Glade Spring, Va., Jimmy Owens, Ricky Owens and wife Margie, all of Damascus, Va., and Randy Owens of St. Paul, Va.; sister, Delilah Hurd and husband Bobby, of Bristol, Va.; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1 until 1:45 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Family and friends will travel in procession to Forest Hills Memory Gardens for a graveside service at 2 p.m. Friday with Pastor Dean Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.
