Oleatha Maxine Balthrop McClanahan, 83, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 in Duncan.

Services will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Glory Bound Church in Marlow with introductions by Rev. David Woods and Rev. Marty Gibson officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.

Maxine was born Thursday, April 30, 1931 in Carnegie to Levi Butler and Leona Pearl (Welch) Lumbert. Maxine grew up in the Stephens County area and attended Velma-Alma High School. On October 31, 1949, Halloween, she married McBride "Mack" Balthrop in Gainesville, Texas, he preceded her in death on January 15, 1997. She later married J.T. McClanahan on September 27, 1997 in Countyline, he preceded her in death on October 29, 2009. Maxine worked as a restaurant manager for many restaurants in Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico, and at the age of 18, was known as the youngest full-fledged cook in Roby, Texas. Maxine attended culinary school to expand her love of cooking. She loved to sing and decorate, she sang at many weddings and funerals and helped her friends with interior decorating. Maxine's biggest job, and joy, in life was raising her six boys. She was a member of the Countyline First Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include,
six sons, Wiley Balthrop and wife Renee, John Balthrop, George Balthrop and wife Tawana, Wes Balthrop, Tom Balthrop and wife Lisa, KP Balthrop and wife Tammy;
three step-children, Pat McClanahan and wife Angie, Teresa Keck and husband Rocky, James McClanahan and wife Molly;
13 grandchildren; Jay, Brandon, Amy, Angela, Coty, Shelly, Leszley Ann, Travis, Brooke, Charles, Dani, Jessica, Kendra, and seven step-grandchildren;
brothers, JD Lumbert of Countyline, Levi Lumbert and wife Barbara of Pearsall,Texas;
sisters, Francine Norman and husband Johnny of Davis, Freda Mae Bingham and husband Johnny of Bray;
many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Maxine was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Arthur Lumbert; sister-in-law, Rosie Lumbert; daughter-in-law, Teresa Balthrop.
