Tommy and a friend were abducted from Suburban Plaza in Decatur, Georgia. They were placed in a van and driven to Killian Hill Road (it was a dirt road in 1977) in Lilburn, Georgia. Tommy and his friend were shot and thrown from the back of the van. The friend survived.
