Russell R. "Rusty" Carpenter, 78, of Conway, SC, formerly of Pontiac, died Friday, January 23, 2015 at Conway Hospice Hospital in Conway, SC.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home with Rev. George Russell officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded. Private inurnment will be in Southside Cemetery, Pontiac.
He was born May 22, 1936 in Pontiac, a son of Russell R. and Ruth Emma (Dalton) Carpenter. He married Faye Brubach. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2012. His parents and three brothers: Raymond Michael, Ronald Lee, and Kenneth Ray also precede him in death.
Survivors include two daughters: Laurie (Dale) Simmons of Pontiac, IL, Lisa Carpenter of Pontiac, IL; four stepsons: Jim, Mike, Dean and Steve Brubach; two sisters: Janet (Gene) Swartz of Pontiac, IL, Diane (Ron) Shapland of Cullom, IL; one brother: James (Joyce) Carpenter of Conway, SC; four stepgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
