Flora Davis Horton, 70, of Lenoir, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at her residence, following a period of declining health.
Flora was born on April 2, 1944 in Caldwell County to the late Lonnie Davis and Dorothy Love Davis. She was a member of the First Church of God Lenoir for over forty years.
Mrs. Horton graduated from Freedom High School in 1963 and had a passion for healthcare. She retired after forty years as a CNA and private home healthcare nurse.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Horton.
Survivors include her loving son, James Anthony Horton of the home, one granddaughter, Chelsi Mikayla Horton of Winston Salem and one great-grandchild, Kameron Isaiah Horton of Lenoir. Also surviving are her siblings, Gladys Caldwell (Paul) of Morganton, Marietta Lipford(Durant) of Lenoir, Dorothy "Dottie" Davis of Lynchburg, VA, Aldamae Dula(Dale) of Lenoir, Charles Davis(Barbara) of Wilkesboro and Samuel Davis, Sr.(Carolyn) of Lenoir.
Funeral services will be held at the First Church of God Lenoir with Rev. James Wilfong officiating. Interment will follow at Harpertown Cemetery in Lenoir.
The family will receive friends at the First Church of God Lenoir.
