Brigadier General Kermit A. Patchen of Lakeland, FL, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in Sarasota, FL.

Born January 23, 1919 in Collins, OH, Kermit was a humble man, an amazing role model, kind, caring, and most of all a man with integrity and character.

He proudly served in World War II and the Korean War in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. His military career began in the Army in 1941 as a Private.

He served as Quartermaster General for the Ohio Army National Guard, and in 1978, he retired as a Brigadier General, with 38 years of service. Later, he worked for the Ohio Building Authority as manager of the Rhodes State Office Tower and also for the architectural firm of Design Group, Inc. He was one of eight children born to Wayne and Lillian Mae (Liedorff) Patchen (Clifton "Kip", George, Reed, Phyllis, Jane, Shirley, Barbara).

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Alice, of Lakeland, FL; brother (George), sisters (Shirley and Barbara); children Mark, Myra, Jamie and Krista; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements by: Neptune Society.
