Brenda Ann Barton, 72, of Valdosta died Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Louis Smith Memorial Hospital in Lakeland, GA. She was born in Altha, FL on January 30, 1943 to the late John Thomas Garrett and Rosa Ann Jones Garrett. Mrs. Barton was a homemaker and a member of Pine Grove Community Baptist Church. She is survived by three sons and daughters in law, Jesse Eugene, III and Rose Marie Barton of Rossville, GA, Carter Garrett and Sherry Elizabeth Barton of Valdosta, Isaac Monroe and Leslie Jerre Grant Barton of Hahira, four grandchildren, Thomas Andrew Barton, Emma June Barton, Madeline Jade Barton and Grant Ashley Barton. Mrs. Barton is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Eugene Barton, two sisters, Betty Bodiford and Elizabeth Williams and her brother, John Garrett. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 27, 2015 at three p. m. at Pine Grove Community Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Culpepper officiating. Burial will follow at Cat Creek Cemetery. She will be placed in the church at two p. m. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Thursday at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
