Born on March 16, 1930, he was the son of the late John Preston Arnold Sr. and Lena Black Arnold. Mr. Arnold retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years of service as a Senior Master Sergeant. While on active duty he served in both Korea and Vietnam. After his retirement from the service, he went on to work as an Air Traffic Controller with the FAA. He was a member of Shaw Heights Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: one son of Livermore, CA; one daughter of Springfield, VA; one brother of Elgin, SC; and two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Alma Reece.
