Rosemary entered this life on March 9, 1940, west of Anderson, Missouri, daughter of the late Lester and Lillian (Carman) Crosby. She was raised and attended school in Anderson, Missouri. On October 25, 1957, she was united in marriage to Charles Edward Carter and to this union three children were born. She was employed at Emerson Electric in Rogers, Arkansas for thirty-two years, retiring in 2000 as line supervisor. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowerbeds and preparing wonderful home cooked meals.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-nine years, Charles Edward Carter on July 17, 2007; and a brother, Bobby Crosby.
Rosemary is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Hargrave and husband, Dan, of Stella, Missouri and Sandy Writer and husband, Doug, of Cassville, Missouri; a son, Hank Carter and wife, Kim, of Stella, Missouri; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Wanda Benge and husband, Roy, of Palestine, Texas, Nina Baker of Pineville, Missouri and Ona Reardon and husband, Jack, of Noel, Missouri; two brothers, Benny Crosby and wife, Laverne, of Anderson, Missouri and Doug Crosby and wife, Nita, of Norfolk, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Carter are 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2015, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Bro. Billy Joe Gentry officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery near Stella, Missouri. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Dustin Spiva, Travis Hurn, Caleb Street, Ryon Groff, Rex Baker, Tim Carter and Gus Writer. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorials are being directed to the Circle of Life Memorial Program and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
