Georgetown - Ruth S. James passed away Sunday Feb. 22nd 2015, at Seaford Genesis Center. She was born in Hollandsville, Del. on May 31st, 1919, the daughter of the late William and Eliza (Hurd) Stubbs. Ruth was the oldest living member of Asbury United Methodist Church. In addition to her membership with the church, she also was a devoted Sunday school teacher. Her children and family were the highlight of her life as she cherished every moment in their presence. Ruth also had a passion for drawing. In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her loving husband, Granville, who passed in 1986, and three grandchildren, Donald Sullivan, Ralph Sullivan, Jr., and Carlton James, Jr. Two of her nine children also preceded her death, Paul and Kenneth James. She is survived by seven children, Carlton James, Charlotte Sullivan (Jack), Betty Edgar (Frank), Richard James, David James, Barbara Cannon (Tom), and Shirley Baugher (Greg). Ruth is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Michael James, Sandra Rust, Dwight and Beverly Brantly, Lisa and Shawn Sullivan, Debbie Heinsch, Dennis Edgar, Mark and TR Cannon, Rebecca, Cherith and Daniel Fuller, 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
