Larry E. Stackhouse
Longtime diesel mechanic, Ford Mustang fan
Larry E. Stackhouse, age 57, of Rohrsburg died Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at his home in Greenwood Township.
Larry was born Monday, March 4, 1957, in Bloomsburg, a son of Jay R. and Ruth E. (Fiester) Stackhouse of Rohrsburg.
Larry was a resident of his Greenwood Township home for 33 years. He completed his formal education upon graduation from Millville High School in 1975. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he faithfully served his country until his honorable discharge.
Larry was known as a detail-attentive individual. He enjoyed fabricating almost anything. He was also an amateur excavator, and was a fan of Ford Mustang automobiles. His greatest joys in life were spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, barbecues, or sitting and watching his pond.
For over 30 years, Larry was employed by Penske Trucking as a diesel mechanic.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his beloved wife of 32 years, Bonnie (Drake) Stackhouse, whom he married Sept. 25, 1982; a daughter: Jessica R. Stackhouse, and companion, JonPaul Arsenyevictz, of Stillwater; a son: Samuel J. Stackhouse and wife, Mary, of Lightstreet; two grandchildren: Jayden and Jonny; two sisters: Darlene Sabo and husband, Michael, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Kathy Musselman and husband, Rob, of Rohrsburg; and two brothers: Jay R. Stackhouse and wife, Gloria, of Ft. Yukon, Alaska, and Randy Stackhouse of Millville.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at 2 p.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, 107 W. Main at Railroad St., Millville, with his brother-in-law, the Rev. Michael Sabo, officiating. Graveside committal services will immediately follow in the Rohrsburg Cemetery. A combined VFW and American Legion group will provide full military honors.
