Bertrice W. Small, an American New York Times bestselling writer of historical and erotic romance novels died at her home in Southold on February 24, 2015. She was 77 years old.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 2-6 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes, Inc., 51400 Main Road (NYS Route 25), Southold, New York 11971.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 3rd at 9:30 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 13225 Sound Avenue, Mattituck, New York 11952.
Interment will follow at Kensico Cemetery, 273 Lakeview Avenue, Valhalla, New York 10595.

Mrs. Small had also appeared on other best-seller lists including Publishers Weekly, USA Today, and the L.A. Times. She was the recipient of numerous awards including Best Historical Romance, Outstanding Historical Romance Series, Career Achievement for Historical Fantasy, and several Reviewers Choice awards from Romantic Times.
She had a "Silver Pen" from Affaire de Coeur, and an Honorable Mention from The West Coast Review of Books.
In 2004 Bertrice Small was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by Romantic Times magazine for her contributions to the genre.
