He was a retired farmer and also worked for Local Union 18 as a heat and frost insulator since 1964. Mr. Fort was a member of Morristown Masonic Lodge No. 193, Eastern Star Chapter No. 316, and Morristown Christian Church. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
David is survived by his loving wife, Clara Jo (Henley) Fort of Morristown; three daughters, Kelli Jo (Dave) Marchello of Greenfield, Karyn K. (Bill) Bollinger of Granger, IN, and Andrea D. (Mike) Brandow of Bargersville, IN; six grandchildren, Kelsi, Courtney, Elizabeth, Korey, Erik, and Adam; and a childhood friend, Roy Gene Mohr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell V. and Charlotte M. (Murphy) Fort; and daughter, Patti Lynn Fort.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service beginning with a masonic service will take place immediately following the visitation at 7:00 p.m. Chaplain Russ Jarvis will be officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
