Henry Gilbert Perkins passed away February 22, 2015 at the age of 92. He was born in Winder in 1923, the son of the late Erastus & Ruth McElroy Perkins and served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Perkins fought in the Pacific Theater during WWII with the 650th Engineer Battalion receiving a Bronze Star, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars & Bronze Arrowhead, American Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and WWII Victory Medal. He fought in the Bismarck Archipelago, New Guinea and Luzon campaigns.
