Larry was the fourth child (and third son) of Robert Alexander “Bob” Cushnie and Hathale Redmond Roe Ancill. His Cushnie Grandparents Isabella & William and 4 young children immigrated from Scotland to Hawaii in 1910. They then had 6 more children born on the “Big Island” of Hawaii. Larry’s family home was a Ewa Beach Oahu Hawaii and the four boys spent lots of time at the beach and surfing. Larry spent his working life working for QANTAS Airways (the world’s safest Airline) starting at Head Office in San Francisco and transfered to the Tucson Office.
Larry’s ashes were scattered over the ocean of San Fransisco Bay.

CUSHNIE, Larry Roe, 47, of Tucson, died August 19, 1994. Mr. Cushnie graduated from Punahou High School in Honolulu, HI and attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He worked for Qantas Airlines for 24 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Cushnie and his brother, Harold Cushnie. He is survived by his longtime friend, Robert Dixon of Tucson; mother, Hathale Cushnie of Santa Rosa, CA; his brothers, Jay Cushnie of Redding, CA; and Robert Cushnie, Jr. of Haiku, HI; and two nieces; and three nephews. A Memorial Service was held at St. Frances in the Foothills Church on August 21. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Tides Foundation/Memorial Grove, 856 Stanyan St., San Francisco, CA, 94117; or to the Shanti Foundation, 602 N 4th Ave., Tucson, AZ, 85705; or to the Community Hospice, 4330 N Campbell Ave, Suite 256, Tucson, AZ, 85718.
