Helen Lucinda Cook was born to Alexander and Rena (Printy) Bear of Plano, Iowa on January 24, 1918.
Helen married Elmer Cook on October 14, 1938 in Unionville, Missouri. They moved to the neighboring town of Melrose, Iowa where they operated a grain and beef farm. In 1953 she and Elmer moved to Minnesota and bought a farm near Border, Minnesota where they farmed and raised their family.
Helen loved her flowers, the garden, and the red chickens. When neighbors or family stopped by to visit they always left fed and blessed.
Helen Cook passed away on Saturday, February 21 at her home in Border. She was 97 years old.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, two sisters, and her parents.
