Major Joseph Richard Kilian, US Army Ret., 79 died Sunday, May 6, 2007 at a hospital in North Charleston, SC.

Born August 19, 1927 in Omaha, Nebraska, he was the son of the late Col. James A. and Helen Marie Kilian (nee Daley). He was educated at the University of Illinois and University of Deleware and joined the US Army. During his military career, he was stationed overseas and his branch was Air Defense Artillery. Following retirement from the Army, Joe was employed as the Supervisor of Housing and Food Service at Pennsylvania State University. He was an avid model railroad enthusiast and enjoyed traveling.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 53 years, Jeune Marie Kilian (nee Good); son, John R. Kilian and wife Barbara, and two grandchildren: Theresa Kilian and Jimmy Kilian, all of Atlanta, GA; daughter, The Rev. Joan Marie Kilian, Statesboro, GA.
