Ella Virginia Woolstenhulme Berger, 88, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at the Madison Memorial Hospital of natural causes. She was born Jan. 27, 1914, in Victor, Idaho, to Eleanor Cluff and George Wolstenhulme. She attended school at Victor and the Henager Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married William James Gerger on July 6, 1935, at Victor. The marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Teton Valley and Rexburg. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1978, she served a mission with her husband to San Jose, Calif. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She worked as a school lunch supervisor in the Teton County School District in Driggs and later worked as a secretary at Ricks College until her retirement in 1977. She was a 4-H leader and was recognized by that group for her many years of service. Her hobbies include: sewing, canning, quilting and traveling but her priorities wer her family and her religion. She is survived by her children: James Douglas (Marcia) Berger of Richland, Wash.; Gene Raymond (Sharon) Berger of Ashton; Marsha Vee (Steve) Taylor of Delta Junction, Alaska; Phil W. (Melanee) Berger of Ogden, Utah; Dessa Rae (Rex) Wade of Logan, Utah; Shane (Leslie) Berger of Rexburg; a sister Chloe Curtis of Idaho Falls, Idaho, 23 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband who died in 1987, her parents, five brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg where family and friends will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Victor, Idaho Cemetery.
