Michael Claude Mahaffey, 59, of 239 Blalock Rd., Boiling Springs, SC, was called home to be with the Lord, Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born May 25, 1955, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Ralph Ben Mahaffey and the late Sue C. Stewart and stepson of Bill Stewart of the home.

Michael was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School and attended Spartanburg Technical College and Rutledge College. He was a veteran having served in the U. S. Navy, a member of the USS Saratoga Association, former Chaplin of American Legion Post #45, former member of Post #206 Nursing Home Ministry of Valley Falls and several other hospital and home ministries. He loved his Lord and his family, always had a positive attitude, and never complained about his struggles.

Survivors include his sisters, Ginger Lewis of Spartanburg, Kathy Revels of Boiling Springs, SC; nephew, Jeffrey Revels of Orlando, FL; nieces, Melanie Anderson of Boiling Springs, SC, Melissa Lewis of Greenville, SC, and Shana Lowe of Campobello, SC; great-nephews, Joshua Anderson of Spartanburg, Adam Anderson of Boiling Springs, SC, Carson Revels and Chancellor Revels both of Orlando, FL; and great-nieces, Kate Revels of Orlando, FL, and Kasey, Kallie and Kristen Lowe, all of Inman, SC.

He was predeceased by grandparents, Claude Lee Mahaffey and Cora Mae Matthews Mahaffey, and Oley Blythewood and Lula Burgess Clayton.

Visitation will be 12:45-1:45 PM Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with funeral services following at 2:00 PM, conducted by the Rev. Michael Coward and the Rev. Ronald Smalley. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
