Indianapolis – Glenn Leo Hicks, 88, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015.

Mr. Hicks was born February 20, 1926 in Risco, MO. He and his family moved to Indianapolis in the early 1960s. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army where he served on the island of Guam during World War II. Mr. Hicks was employed as a lift truck driver at Dura Containers until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the VFW and the Church of God.

Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 34 years, Naomi Ruth Hicks; son, Barney Herrington; and grandson, Kodi Nichols.

He is survived by his son, Tony Hicks; daughters, Vickie Henslee, Robin Lakin, Kathy “Kat” Nichols, Brenda Akers and Glenda Griffin; grandsons, Jack Johnson, Nick and Derek Lakin, Robert Henslee, Ben, Justin and Shaun Herrington, Kalvin Nichols and Brandon Hayre; granddaughters, Kellie and Tina Henslee, Christina Lakin, Brittney Akers, Kristen Hynds, Tiffany and Erica Griffin, Dana, Haley and Ashley Hicks and Angela Herrington; 25 great grandchildren; and many other loving family members and devoted friends.

Mr. Hicks’ family will receive friends Sunday, February 22, 2015, from 2-6 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home at 925 East Hanna Avenue in Indianapolis. A celebration of his life will be conducted Monday, February 23, 2015, at 11 am at Trinity Fellowship Church of God at 440 St. Peter Street in Indianapolis with Pastor Ronald Ragan and Pastor Josh Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.
