Bill William Bernard, 67, a native of Golden Meadow and a resident of Larose,
died at 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2010.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Our Lady of Prompt
Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at
the church, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery.

He is survived by one daughter, Brett Bernard Guidry and husband, Ross Guidry;
four brothers, Melvin Bernard and wife, Rose, Louis Bernard, Charles Bernard and
wife, Joyce, and Douglas and wife, Nina; two sisters, Thelma "Sis" Leonard, and
Mary Ann Pierce and husband, Curtis; his sister-in-law, Mary Lee Bernard; and
two brothers-in-law, Ted Oliver and Andy Oliver.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Andrea "Suzie" Oliver Bernard; his
parents, Alcide J. and Pauline Williams Bernard; his sister-in-law, Geri
Bernard; his brother-in-law, Adam Leonard; and three brothers, Dudley Bernard,
Norris "Brod" Bernard and wife, Ezola, and Stanley Bernard and wife, Mary.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, a U.S. Army
veteran, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 9000, American Legion Post
259 of Golden Meadow, a volunteer fireman in Golden Meadow, co-hosted United
Cerebral Palsy Telathon, and a member of the original Golden Meadow Tarpons fast
pitching softball team in 1958. He was retired after 38 years working for the
United States Postal Service.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
