Katherine “Kathy” L. Chambers, age 67, of Grand Rapids, MN, passed away Monday, February 16, 2015 at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN.
Kathy was born in 1947 to Irven and Davine Ness in Grand Rapids, where she also grew up and attended school. She graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 1965 and then attended cosmetology school in Marshalltown, IA. Kathy was united in marriage to Kenneth Chambers on February 14, 1970 in Grand Rapids. She was employed as a beautician at Hi-Style Beauty Salon and later at Pleasant Seasons, retiring in 2006.
Kathy was a member of the Sweet Adelines and participated in Showboat. She enjoyed camping, sewing, being at the lake, crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. Kathy loved listening to old time radio shows.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ken; two daughters, Jodi Chambers and Amy (Adam) Jones; son, Jason (Mary) Chambers; brother, David (Lois) Ness; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Burial in Itasca-Calvary Cemetery.
