Darrell G. Cole, 78, Macomb, Michigan, formerly of Carey, OH died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1:10 p.m. at Beaumont Troy Hospital, Troy, Michigan. He was born in Carey, Ohio on January 2, 1937. He was the son of the late John and Venita (Stapley) Cole. Darrell married Margaret Ann Hotelling. She preceded him in death. On April 12, 2003 he married Diane Komarynski. She survives in Macomb, Michigan. Also surviving are six children; Michael (Carrie) Cole, Tiffin, Laura (Tim Alt) Hall, Carey, David Cole, Lima, Mark (Barb) Cole, West Lake, OH, Teresa Fitch, Lima and Daniel (Charity) Cole, Carey, seventeen grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, seven siblings, Wilma O"Donnell, Darwin Cole, Velda Moore, Larry (Carol) Cole, Keith (Yeonsoon) Cole, Joy (Rudy) Niederkohr, Tim (Kyra) Cole and many nieces and nephews. Darrell was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Cole and a brother, Alvin Cole. Darrell was a trade electrician. He had worked for Chrysler and General Dynamics. Darrell was a union leader for many years. He was a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran. At the age of 65 he earned his black belt in Karate. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. at STOMBAUGH-BATTON FUNERAL HOME, Carey.
The funeral service will be Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey with Rev. Merle Walter officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Bloom Cemetery, Vanlue.
