Mr. CLYDE was born in Springville October 27, 1871, a son of James H. and Mary Farnsworth CLYDE. His parents were early Utah pioneers, his father a direct descendent of Lord Clyde of Scotland.
He received his education in the schools of Springville and Brigham Young University at Provo. As a young man, he began work with the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad company, and came to Mount Pleasant in 1900 as section foreman. He was employed by the railroad 45 years, retiring seven years ago. He was a member of Liberty camp, Woodmen of the World of Mount Pleasant.
In 1901 he married Mrs. Minnie M. LARSEN of Mt. Pleasant, who survives him, with four daughters and one son, Mrs. May J. SIMPSON and Mrs. Clarice C. OLSON of Mount Pleasant; Mrs. Lola C. STRINGHAM of Manti; Mrs. Loretta L. KIDMAN of San Pedro, California, and J. T. JENSEN of Gunnison. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Alma FULLMER of Springville and sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
