Ted Courtney, 81, Route 5, Mayfield, died Saturday at 12:15 p.m. at Community Hospital.
He was a retired Mayfield and Graves County businessman and a member of Dublin Baptist Church where he served as a trustee, song director and treasurer.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Courtney; three brothers, Rev. Grandville Courtney, Cadiz; William Courtney, Wingo; and Bob Courtney, Mayfield; three sisters, Maybelle Guthrie, Hammond, Indiana; Lillian Bailey, Mayfield; and Ella Rohrer, Arlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lon and Letha Clark Courtney; two brothers, Clyde Courtney and Wayne Courtney; one sister, Ruby Lawrence; and his step-mother, Ethel Spraggs Courtney.
Services were held today at 2 p.m. at Dublin Baptist Church with Rev. Don Farmer and Rev. Charles Smith officiating. Burial will take place in Dublin Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were his nephews and honorary pallbearers were the Adult Men's Sunday School class of Dublin Baptist Church.
