Virginia, of Grand Ledge, MI. went to be with her Lord Sunday, February 22, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Mathew and Elizabeth (Miller) Fox.

She was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and a former St. Michaels and Holy Cross member.
She attended Holy Cross School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1940.

Virginia married Vernon L. Bauer celebrating 65 years of marriage before he passed away in 2007.

She worked at St. Lawrence Hospital and Grand Ledge Public Schools retiring in 1985. Virginia enjoyed living life to the fullest and spending time with her family.

She is also preceded in death by a son, Lawrence (Larry) (Michelle) Bauer, daughter, MaryAnn Pierce, granddaughter Theresa (Bauer) Fofana, great-grandson Zachary Downey, brothers, Leonard, Joseph (Eva) “Jimmy” Fox, and a sister Josephine.

She is survived by her sons, Richard (Julianne) and Michael (Diane) Bauer; son-in-law, Steven (Carole) Pierce; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many loving relatives and friends.

A special thank you to everyone at Fairview A.F.C., McLaren Hospice and St. Gerard and St. Michael Catholic Church for her medical and spiritual care.

The funeral mass was celebrated on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John Klein as celebrant. Entombment followed in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. A vigil service was held.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Virginia’s name may be made to Fairview A.F.C., McLaren Hospice, St. Gerard or St. Michael Catholic Church.
