Funeral services for Mrs. Bobbie Adams, 76, are scheduled for Friday, April 2, 2010, at 11 am at First Baptist Church in Lexington with Dr. Hoyt Wilson officiating. Her burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.

Mrs. Adams was born June 14, 1933 in Nashville, TN to the late H.B. and Peggy Pritchard Bagwell. During her high school years in Lexington, she was a cheerleader & band member and soon the Homecoming Queen caught the eye of Tony Adams. On August 8, 1952, Bobbie and Tony were married in the home of Dr. Deusner and began their life together in Lexington.

Mrs. Adams was a cornerstone of her family & a woman of accomplishment. She held the position of bookkeeper at Paul G. Caywood Elementary, then Lexington City School, and was also the co-owner of Adams' Furniture. She approached all aspects of her life with seemingly boundless energy. True dedication to her faith culminated in her holding the distinction as the 3rd longest tenured active member of First Baptist Church. A voracious reader, she was a long time member of the Book Lover's Club. However, her energy was most apparent in her devotion of time & care to her family. She gave each of her children a strong foundation for life and reveled in their accomplishments. This carried over to her love and admiration for her grandchildren and to her great-grandchildren who were bringing new joy to her life.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adams was also predeceased by her son Randy Adams. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Mr. Tony Adams, her sons, Ronnie, his wife Julia, and their children Ashley Kate Melton (Josh) and Hope Owens (Clint) and Rob, his wife Leslie, and their children Zachary and Blake Adams. She is also survived by her daughters, Peggy Wallace, her husband Terry, and their children Terry Paul Wallace (Brandi), Steven Wallace (Sabrina), Adam Powers (Emily), Miranda Dunning (Leon) & Grant Wallace and Becky Adams Umphers and her son Allen Lee Umphers; as well as eight great- grandchildren

Casket bearers to serve are Johnny Adams, Howard Douglass, Leon Dunning, Josh Melton, Clint Owens and Tim Wallace.
