Funeral services for Erma Abler, 84, of Mount Calvary, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Huss Funeral Home, St. Cloud, and at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mount Calvary. The Rev. David Matenaer will officiate. Burial will be at the parish cemetery. Lunch will follow at the Canteen, Mount Calvary. Visitation is scheduled after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where a parish vigil will be held at 8 p.m. Mrs. Abler died Saturday, Feb. 15. 1992, at St. Agnes Hospital, following a lingering illness. She was born Oct. 31, 1907, in Mount Calvary, a daughter of Bernard and Katherine Pronold Haehn. On June 26, 1937, she married Richard J. Abler at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mount Calvary. Mrs. Abler attended Holy Cross Catholic Grade School. She and her husband resided in Mount Calvary following their marriage. They established the Abler Plumbing and Heating Co. where Mrs. Abler served as bookkeeper. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, and the church's Christian Mothers. Survivors include three sons, Richard Jr. and his wife Barbara of Worthington, Ohio, Russell and his wife Bernice and Robert and his wife Joan, both of Mount Calvary; one daughter, Shirley Horn and her husband Jim of St. Cloud; eight grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Adella Berenz of Seminole, Fla. Preceding her in death were her husband in 1988, one brother and two sisters.
