Thomas D. Washburn, 54, superintendent of properties and equipment at Utah oil Refining Co., died of a heart ailment Saturday while preparing to hunt geese about eight miles northeast of American Falls, Idaho.
Mr. Washburn was a veteran employe of Utah Oil Refining Co., and formerly resided in American Falls as Idaho manager for the wholesale department. He transferred to Walla Walla, Wash., as northwest manager four years ago and because of ill health was transferred to Salt Lake City in 1953. He has held his present position since Aug. 16, 1954. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Thomas Daniel Washburn was born July 22, 1903 in Provo, the son of Jesse and Luella Wakefield Washburn. He married Jane Osborn Feb. 28, 1932, in Salt Lake City.
Survivors include his widow and mother, Salt Lake City, and two sons, Thomas W., Los Angeles; Richard M., with the U.S. Air force in Biloxi, Miss.; three grandchildren, seven brothers and a sister.
