Mary Lucas Boles (Brookie), 91, passed away February 16, 2015 in her home surrounded by family and friends.
A graveside service will be at 10:30 am on Monday March 9, 2015 in the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a memorial contribution to a charity of your choice.
Brookie was born in Charlestown, WV on July 29, 1923 to John and Sydney Lucas.
Her husband, MG John K. Boles, Jr. died in 1980.
She is survived by her son, John and his wife Mary of Overland Park, Kansas; her daughter, Judy Kunkel and her husband Jerry of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren Ben, Katie, Matthew, and Michael; great-grandchildren Katherine and Clara.
Our family is a military family and together we have lived in Panama, Germany, Saigon, Vietnam and Turkey, as well as many posts throughout the United States. Mom always made the best of anywhere she lived and had many entertaining stories from her experiences in the military. She lived a full life and will be missed.
