Vivian Olive Sayre, daughter of Benjamin and Huldah Ann Sayre, was born Sept. 19, 1880 in Harper Kan., and passed away Mar. 13, 1963 in Medicine Lodge, Kan., at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 24 days.
She was united in marriage to Charles H. Pearson Feb. 22, 1897 in Wichita, Kan and to this union eight children were born. Two children, Bessie and Billie, preceded her in death, and Mr. Pearson passed away in 1955. They made their home in Amorita, Okla., until 1919 when the family moved to a farm near Fredonia, Kan., and in 1929 they moved to Anthony where she resided at the time of her death.
She was a member of the Christian church in Anthony. She is survived by two sons, Glen of Napa, Calif., and Orson of Richmond, Va,; four daughters, Mrs. Bernice Wright of Independence, Kan., Mrs. Alice Smith of Longton, Kansas, Mrs. Edna Jamison of Tulelake, Calif., and Mrs. Mabel Hill of Norwood, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held in the Elliott chapel Saturday, Mar. 16, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Chas Fitzgerald officiating. Dorothy Cleveland sang "In the Garden" and "Lead Kindly Light", accompanied by the organist Bonnie Connell. Casket bearers were Ralph McClellan, Alfred Nordgren, Floyd Snyder, John Smith, Ray Brooks and Ted Meador.
Interment was in the Harper cemetery.
