Phillip Day McDonald, age 71, of Greensburg died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at his home.
He was born April 13, 1943 in Campbellsville to the late Granville and Ophelia Tungate McDonald. He was a builder and enjoyed farming, gardening and his dog.
Surviving are his children, Larry McDonald and his wife, Emma of Florida, Sandra Glidewell and her husband, George of Shepherdsville, Douglas McDonald and his wife, Robin of Greensburg, Tammy McDonald, of Greensburg and Sara McDonald of Louisville; eight grandchildren, Derik McDonald, Melissa Marshall, Khristina Glidewell, Jessica McDonald, Chad McDonald, Amberlyn McDonald, Ashley Sullivan, Tamara Knowles and Savanna McDonald; a great-granddaughter, Kaycen McDonald; a sister, Burdis Burress and her husband, Lester, of Campbellsville and brothers, Vonald McDonald and his wife, Jewell, of Louisville, Buel McDonald and his wife, Evelyn of Liberty, David McDonald and his wife, Fran and George McDonald and his wife, Diane of Campbellsville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Friday at Jones Chapel United Church with burial to follow in the Jones Chapel Church Cemetery.
The family request visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.
