GERARD ANGE

Proprietaire Extraordinaire Gerard Ange', longtime resident of Palo Alto and owner of Ange's Framing Shop in Los Altos, peacefully passed away at his home on Nov. 3, 2004 surrounded by his family. He was 85.

Born in Bourcefranc le Chapus, France on Jan. 9, 1919, he was a proud and courageous veteran of The Free French Navy having served on the light cruiser "Le Terrible" during WWII. While assigned to New York as Naval Attaché' he met and married Elizabeth McGill with whom he had two children. After they separated in 1959 he moved to California settling in Palo Alto where he was a great source of joy and laughter to all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Yolande, his children, Liz Hoyer and her husband Bob of Granite Bay, Gerard Ange' of Mill Valley, his grandchildren, Alison Morris of Roseville and Rob Hoyer currently serving with the armed forces in Kuwait, his stepchildren Gerry and Bill Giacometti of Montclair, Michelle and Michael Tyrolt and their children Stephanie of Colorado and Christopher currently serving with the Navy in Diego Garcia, Fred Greco of Sacramento and Jean-Pierre Greco of Palo Alto.

He has touched the hearts of numerous friends and acquaintances here and in Shell Beach California, where he had a second home, and in France who will always remember him with love.

Friends are invited to attend services Friday, November 12, 2004 at 1:00 PM at the Los Altos Chapel of Spangler Mortuaries, 399 So. San Antonio Road, Los Altos. Interment, Alta Mesa Memorial Park, located on Arastradero Rd and Foothill Expressway, Palo Alto. Flowers or contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice Foundation, 201 San Antonio Circle, Suite 104, Mtn. View, CA 94040.
