Jonah was the first husband of Nancy Ann (Slane) Pyott, and the son of Jonah Nixon, Sr. and Elizabeth (Titus) Nixon. There are five field stones marking graves in the cemetery. A stone was not found for Jonah Nixon, Jr. His wife Nancy is buried there so one of the field stones is probably marking Jonah's grave, but this is just a guess.
I found the stone for Jonah Nixon II. It was on the back side of a standing stone for Mary Nixon 1743-1804. Evidently she had a standing stone and then later a flat stone was made and then someone used the back side of her old stone for Jonah II. The stone reads, Jonah Nixon died 1827 aged 33 years.
