He was born to the union of Joseph Bazile and Charlotte Rose Spivey Bazile. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Bazile.
Dwight attended Forest Brook High School in Houston, Texas where he graduated in 1976. Afterwards he entered the Houston Fire Academy and graduated in 1978 and this is where his career started with the Houston Fire Department. Dwight was one of the founding members of the Houston Chapter of the Black Fire Fighters Association. He also studied and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse and was a mentor to many who came after him. Captain Bazile was a trail blazer at Fire Station 46 located in the southeast area of the city.
Captain Dwight Brazile died in the line of duty from a heart attack while on a call battling a house fire. Captain Bazile realized something was terribly wrong. After making it to his engineer operator, he soon collapsed. He fought as long as he could for nearly 48 hours before the gentle giant quietly passed away.
Dwight was married to Pamela Annette {Moore} Bazile of 30 years and to this union was born one son, Dwight Wayne, II. Other survivors include his mother, Charlotte Rose Fielder, his brother, Freddie Brazile (Corine), his brother, Michael Bazile, his sister, Carolyn Davis, his sister, Melissa Brodie (Anthony), his sister-in-law, Rosalyn Boyd (Mark), and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, dear family friends, and Brittnie Bazile.
