James went to East High School before his induction into the U.S. Army in June 1943. He was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of Holy Rosary Parish. He worked as a mail carrier for the United States Post Office for 35 years, and enjoyed his job being able to visit with all the people on his mail route.
James was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Wanda Skrowronski Conley, and infant son, Donald Raymond. He was also preceded by the large Conley family of two brothers and five sisters.
He will be deeply missed by his surviving children, Gary Conley, Diane Conley, and Lori Segal; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Burial will follow in the Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
