Memorial Services for Mr. Eddie B. Clapper were Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial followed in Bonner Springs Cemetery. There was a visitation before the funeral.

Mr. Clapper, 88, died Friday, Jan. 17, in his home.

Mr. Clapper was born July 23, 1914 in Holden, Mo. He lived most of his life in the Bonner Springs area and worked as a weed supervisor for Wyandotte County, retiring in the ?70s. Mr. Clapper then moved to Iola where he lived for 14 years before moving back to this area to be close to his family. Mr. Clapper was a mess sergeant in the United States Army and a veteran of World War II.

Mr. Clapper was preceded in death by his wife, Valores Clapper, in April of 1955.

Mr. Clapper is survived by one daughter, Janet Vopata, Mission; one sister, Dorothy Stegman, Iola; one grandson, and one great-grandson.
