Mr. Preton Scott, 79, passed from this life Friday evening at his residence in San Augustine County. He was born to Earl Roy Scott and Estelle Beatrice Oliver December 9, 1935 in Milam, Texas. Burial will be in Rosevine Cemetery.
Preston served in the United States Marines. After coming out of Service he went to work as an Engineer in Construction. He lost his wife, Burl Dean Scott in death, after being married 55 years. He was a member of Rosevine United Pentacostal Church.
He is survived by his son, Robert Allen Scott of San Augustine; daughters, Terri Lynn Scott Santa Maria of San Augustine, Lisa Gale Scott Arbour and husband Doug of Ft. Lauderdale, FLA., Vicky Grace Scott Potts of San Augustine;grandchildren, Michael Wayne Potts, Kristen Danielle Santa Maria, Amber Dawn Lara, Aaron Matthew Smith, Ricky Anthony Lara, Nicolette Denise Lara; great-grandchildren, Cloey Nevaela Mendez, Christopher Sterling Mercado; sisters, Marlene Tullis and husband Paul of Bastrop, La, Patricia Lowe and husband Jim of Longville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Burl Dean Scott; brothers Jerry, Drakeand Robert; sisters, Lois, Linda, Barbara.
