Hoagland, Mary Frances, Of Louisville passed to our heavenly Father on February 20, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cash Point, TN on November 2, 1918, she was a devout Christian and member of St. Luke UMC and Eastern Star. Upon moving to Okolona she joined Cooper Memorial UMC. She was a proud Kentucky Colonel. She enjoyed world travel and baking fruit cakes and baked apples. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hoagland Jr., her parents, three brothers and one sister. She is survived by daughters Betty Drexler (Norman), Margie Niles (Tom), Mary Esther Barlow (Marc), sons Bill Hoagland (Claire) and Phillip Hoagland (Diane). Mary was adored by her grandchildren, Denise Joyner, Tom Drexler (Leisa), Donnett Boes (Carl), Mary Dawn Younger (Patrick), Phillip Hoagland II (Maura), John Barrett Hoagland (Tamara), Mildred Hoagland, Baly Barlow-McGill (Zach), Kelsey Barlow, and great-grandchildren Benjamin & Tabitha Boes, Emily & Matthew Drexler, Katherine Ann & Michael Younger, Hannah, Brielle, Rachel, Zoe and Nathaniel Hoagland. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to Boy Scout Troop 190 or Cooper Memorial UMC both at 9901 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY 40299.
A celebration of Mary's life will be conducted at 2pm on Monday, February 23, 2015 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 12-2pm the day of the funeral.
