MT. PLEASANT--Graveside services for Sgt. Berdean Allred, 29, will be conducted in the Mt. Pleasant city cemetery at 1 p.m. Sunday under the direction of the North ward bishop, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Military rites will be in charge of Co. A, 145 Field Artillery battalion, U.N.G. and M.H. Zabriskis post No. 4 American Legion. Burial will be in charge of the Ursenbach Funeral home. Friends may call at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Allred, from 10 a.m. Sunday till time of services.

Sgt. Allred was born in Mt. Pleasant, July 6, 1915, a son of Alma and Ruth Coates Allred, and attended the elementary and high school in this city.

He was married to Alice Hill of Idaho Falls, in Logan, Nov. 14, 1935.

He was a member of the national guard at Mt. Pleasant, five years before entering military services in 1944. His basic training was received at Camp Roberts, Cal., and Fort George Meade, Md. He was assigned to overseas duty Sept. 6, 1944 and was killed in action Dec. 6, 1944 in Lennich, Germany. He was awarded the bronze star medal; European-African, Middle Eastern campaign medal; bronze service star; combat infantryman's badge; eagle medal; expert badge with rifle bar; the purple heart, posthumously; and the World War II victory medal.

Surviving are his parents; a daughter and a son Florence Ruth and Melvin Allred of Roy, Utah; two sisters: Mrs. Ruson Dyson, 1786 Wilson ave., Salt Lake City; Mrs. Arda June Blackham of Mcgill, Nev.; four brothers, Ace L. Allred, with the U.S. army in Tokyo, Japan; Bruce; Mont., and Alan Allred of Mt. Pleasant; his grand parents, Mrs. William Allred of Spring City and William Allred of Mt. Pleasant.
