WHITEWATER - John F. West, 51, lifelong resident and employed as a manager of a local tavern-restaurant, died Monday in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Madison, where he had been a patient several weeks. He was a World War II veteran. Born Feb. 11, 1914, in Whitewater, the son of George and Isabella Laverty West, he married Bessie Sutherland in 1943. Surviving are his wife; two daughters; a son; his mother, Mrs. George West, and three sisters, Mmes. Josephine Wolf, Tina O'Donnell and Hazel Joiner, all of Whitewater. Burial with military graveside rites will be in Calvary Cemetery.
