Leon Walton, was born March 14, 1938, to Bill and Ethel Walton, of Sasakwa, OK. Leon led a interesting life as bowling pin setter, bowling ball driller, and retiring from the U.S. Postal Service after being a mail carrier in The Village for many years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, and metal detecting. He married Jean Coate Stover in 1967 and had nine children. After an amicable divorce, he met and married Marion Holcomb with whom he had 31 wonderful years. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Walton; grandson, Jaye Nyquist; an infant son and two infant daughters; parents-in-law, Omer and Sari Holcomb; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sarah, John, and Allen Holcomb. He is survived by his wife; children, Lori Kay Thompson and husband Lee, Melodie Ann Beard, Sandra Lynn Combs, Timothy Leon Walton and wife Beth, William Dale Walton, and Carrie Jean Walton; siblings, Pat Howard and husband Fred, JoAnn Cummins and husband Al, and Erma DeAngelo. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Oklahoma Heart Association. Visitation will be from Noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 22 at Matthews Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 23 at Matthews Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Resurrection Cemetery.
