Violet “Dot” June (Kisamore) Long, age 72, of Cabins, WV passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg.
She was born June 19, 1942 in Seneca Rocks, WV and was a daughter of the late Elmer Kisamore and Mabel (Sites) Kisamore.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy W. Long on November 24, 2010; one son, David Leon Long; and two brothers, Vivan “Sonny” Kisamore and Gary Kisamore.
Mrs. Long was a switchboard operator for Macksville and was a store clerk for Harpers Country Store for over 30 years.
Mrs. Long is survived by one son, Kenneth E. Long and wife Diane of Cabins, WV and one daughter, Gearlene Helmick and husband Buddy of Cabins, WV; daughter-in-law, Arlene Long of Cabins, WV; six grandchildren, Travis E. (Shawna) Long, Chelsie N. (Scott) Long, Jordan M. (Samanatha) Long, Wesley S. Haggerty, David W. (Clarissa) Long and Laura F. (Adam) Sponaugle; four step grandchildren, Jeremy Helmick, Lucas Helmick, Spencer Helmick and Danielle Helmick; nine great grandchildren and one step great granddaughter; six sisters, Virginia Grace Riggleman of Harrisonburg, VA, Vada Lawrence of Roanoke, VA, Judy Nelson of Harman, WV, Juanita Poston of Woodstock, VA, Lois Carr of Seneca Rocks, WV and Viva Jean Coakley of Bridgewater, VA and two brothers, Guy Kisamore of Beverly, WV and Elvin Kisamore of Dry Fork, WV; and sister-in-law, Lucy Gail Long of Cabins, WV and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Monday 4-7 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral service will be Tuesday 11 a.m. (Feb. 24, 2015) at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Rev. Rebecca L. Bennett officiating.
Interment will be in the Sites Family Cemetery on Smith Mountain Road, Cabins, WV.
