David F. Maynard, age 71 of Lynchburg, went to his final resting place on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Jennings- Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Sister Liz Sparkman, Brother Jack Lambert, and Brother Roy Woods officiating. Burial will follow at Hoover’s Grove Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, February 21 from 5-9 PM. A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Ernest W. and Rosie Mae Pruitt Maynard. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He served the community of Moore County as Chief Deputy, school bus driver, and City Councilman. He was a member of the Eastside Church of the Nazarene. He loved to fish and hunt, whittle, and garden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Russell Maynard, Arthur Maynard, and Larry Maynard. David is survived by his wife of 50 years Opha Reavis Maynard of Lynchburg; son, Patrick (Shelly) Maynard of Lynchburg; daughters, Pam Lowery and Patricia (Brian) Aldridge, both of Lynchburg; sister, Lucille Jordan of Elora; eight grandchildren, Leann Roberts, Jessica Lowery, Emily Cornelius, Jonathan Aldridge, Tyler Maynard, Ashleigh Maynard, Isaiah Ralston, and Aidan Ralston; great grandchild, Ashlynn Roberts; one God Child, Samantha Martin; and special loyal companion “Scooter,” his dog.
